Saturday 23rd August - Beer and music festival in Milton Keynes

Get yourself over to Manor Fields (Bletchley Rugby Club) today for some beer, live music and general shenanigans at the second annual Party on the Pitch. Live music kicks off at 2pm today and goes on well into the evening - Trash Monkey will be launching their usual aural onslaught from 9pm, taking the stage just before Marshall Amp's very own international touring band take over to play us into the evening...

Come say hello, come have a beer. We'll be there from 2pm, of course!

Two shows over August bank holiday... get your drinking heads on!

Kicking off the bank holiday weekend in style, we'll be hauling ourselves over to Bedford on Friday 22nd, returning to Esquires with old friends Dry 'Til Friday (check out their myspace here). It's free entry, so why not grab yourself a rock'n'roll fix to start the weekend?

We'll then be hosting our second 'lecture of rock' over the August bank holiday weekend at Manor Fields in Fenny Stratford (Milton Keynes) for the second annual 'Party on the Pitch'. We invite you to attend with your beer hats on and as we blast 45 minutes of adrenalin (and most likely booze) fueled rock 'n' roll into the stratosphere above Milton Keynes. The festival promises over thirty beers and ciders on tap (enough said, we're there!), plus three days of live music and events for everyone to enjoy.

Bring your family, your nan, your goldfish, maybe even your shrink but be sure to lock up your daughters! For full details we recommend that you check out the festival website – www.mkpartyonthepitch.co.uk

Band Blitz Review by Steffi Lewis (steffilewis.com)

Last Friday's heat went down pretty well, we had an awesome time and although we didn't make it through to the Final (congrats to Rise Inside) there's no way we're loosening our Chuck Taylors as we're here to stay. We'll be taking the rest of August by the rock'n'roll horns as we return to Esquires and crank it up with another performance at this years MK Party on the Pitch. You can find more gig info by clicking here, but you came for the review, right? Read on then...

Review of our Band Blitz set from Steffi Lewis (www.steffilewis.com):
Trash Monkey who I've seen on numerous occasions around some of the smaller venues. You want some dirty rock guitars? These are the guys for you, and they certainly know what they're doing.

Load a bunch of 12-bar blues chord sequences into the rhythm, add in a very confident singer, a rampaging drummer, solid bass and a twiddly lead ... then lock and load! A great mix of Ramones and AC/DC and some sleezy lyrics too... totally worked for me!

Band Blitz review by Craig Short (ampjam.net)

Cheers to Craig for these words about our performance at the Band Blitz Heat...

Trash Monkey, I’ve seen the guys around a few times and they have got better over time, now grasping tightly at leather jackets and jeans while packing in some decent riffs and a more flamboyant showmanship from their frontman. The guys have a pretty enthusiastic audience to work with, the crowd and band bouncing off each other as they tear off into some old-school power riffs and some pretty articulate solos that break up the tracks, but “Trapped” is my highlight as it seems along some the lines of Rage Against The Machine with heavy, driven blues kick to it but without the rap.

APT gig re-scheduled for June 13th

Upcoming:
Just to give you all a heads up that Trash Monkey will be returning to APT at the County Arms, New Bradwell on Friday 13th June...

Who are APT? – APT (Aptly Named Music) are a bunch of true rock ‘n’ rollers dedicated to the local music scene. Seeing the chance to give bands a venue to show their material thier once monthly music night quickly took off as a great night for rockers of all ages. To accommodate the list of bands asking to play and the crowds turning up each month they had to expand putting bands on every week rather than every month! Great work guys!

You can read about their efforts on their myspace www.myspace.com/aptlynameduk

Coming soon:
We've now been confirmed to play on Saturday 23rd August at the Milton Keynes Beer Festival / Party on the Pitch '08 so be sure to come along and make that an awesome weekend (it all kicks of on the Friday). There'll be some great local bands playing over the weekend, including our friends Sirenide who'll be taking the stage after us and before the evenings headline act Chris George and the Marshall Band. More details about the bands playing MKPOTP '08 here
